Yes! Our program is designed to suit children of all skill levels. A fair number of our players are generally children with limited or no prior softball/baseball experience.
Parents/guardians are responsible for providing the following: a helmet with full earflaps and chin strap (MANDATORY!!), a softball glove, athletic shoes (plastic/rubber cleats are welcome, but metal cleats are not permitted), and a jock/jill. The league will provide each registered player with the uniform required by their division: T-Ball & Rookie - team T-shirt, & baseball cap. Mites - team jersey, & baseball cap. We also provide back catcher equipment for those who may wish to try their hand at catching. Teams will provide bats to be shared amongst the players. *If a player wishes to bring their own bat, they must agree to share it with the rest of the team.*
At the beginning of the season, your coach will provide you with a snack list indicating which family will be responsible for snack each game. In a typical season, a family might be responsible for bringing snack two or three times.
*Please note that all children must be 3 years of age as of May 1st, 2025 in order to play.*

We need your help!
Interested in volunteering?? Do you want to help coach your child's team? Can you help the league in another way?
Send us an email at alderwoodsoftball@gmail.com if you'd like to volunteer in any way, or if you have any questions or concerns.
Alderwood remains the only self-sustaining league in Etobicoke and has not amalgamated with anyone like many others have to survive. This is a credit to the many who believed in Alderwood and its Players, making it the oldest softball club in the city, which is still alive.
